What a busy (but fun) Saturday! Started the day off right with my coffee, packed up the kiddos and headed over to the high school for the official start to Kit Kat's soccer season! The Red and White Jam is the season opener and it was a blast!
Kit Kat has played soccer since he was in Kindergarten and of all the sports he's tried and played so far, soccer is his favorite. This year he is playing on a fairly new team, most of the kids have never played before and well, quite frankly, I don't expect them to win very many games...but he is having a BLAST and that's all that matters! (unless you ask my highly competitive husband...)
Yes, today was a great day! The sun was shining, the team had a great first game and we got team photos taken! Today was also our day for team snacks and thanks to Kit Kat for helping me pick them out, they were a big hit with his teammates! I love the fact that I get to be apart of these fun times...I like being a "soccer mom!"
I hope that you all had a fabulous Saturday as well! Catch you on the flip side!
CHEERS!

Camping...sort of
For the past three days, I've been at scout camp with Kit Kat and his cub scout den. I don't think I fully understood what I was getting myself into when I signed up to go as a parent. Now that I have put in my time, this will be my first and last scout camping trip.
Our camp spot just happened to be the furthest from everything...1/4 mile up a vertical hill. No joke. It was miserable. Furthest from the bathrooms, furthest from the cars, furthest from all scout activites yet closest to the wetlands full of mosquitos. It was anything but awesome. Still, we managed to have (somewhat) of a good time!
The boys had a blast when it came to activities! They got to shoot archery, BB guns, go panning for gold, make gumball machines from wooden kits, go horseback riding, practice roping, do pioneering, learn about nature and camp skills like making apple cobbler over a camp fire. Two days packed full of events! They enjoyed the nightly campfire, the daily flag ceremonies, taking turns being waiters in the dining hall and even attending a flag retirement ceremony. They even enjoyed morning chores...feeding the horses, taking out the garbage, washing dishes and sweeping the dining hall. I think their favorite part was the Western Show on the last day put on by all the camp leaders. All in all, it was a fun couple of days and it will be a campout that they never forget!!

Soccer Time
Spring has officially begun in our house...it's Indoor Soccer time! Kit Kat loves soccer and has played it since he was 5 years old. I'd be lying if I told you he was REALLY good at it, but I can say that he really really likes it! This is only his second indoor season but he likes it a lot better than outdoor and frankly, so do I...rain or shine, I don't get soaked!!
So for the next 8 weeks, you can find me cheering for my boy every Saturday afternoon at the field house. GO KIT KAT!!

Can I get a clone?
Oh man, what a day.
Today was an insane, busy, crazy hectic day at work. I guess that's what a four day school week will do to one, especially after a holiday where kids load up on sugar! The students were all out of sorts and it made for a very trying day. I managed to keep my cool but holding on the simple fact that it was "Friday!!" Tomorrow is no school which means NO STUDENTS!! Maybe I can finally get some work done?? Maybe?? Fingers crossed!
As 4 o'clock came, I bolted out of there only to be rushing home and start "mommy life." M&M's had a doctor appointment across town at 5pm and I couldn't miss it. Luckily he had stayed home with daddy today so there was no stopping at daycare to pick him up (thank goodness or we would have been late!) I got home, he jumped in the car and off we went. This was the first time he was seeing a doctor other than the pediatrician he'd seen all his life so I was a bit nervous but knew I shouldn't be. His pediatrician retired at the end of last year and we were seeing the doctor that took his place. One word to describe her...awesome! She was so welcoming, kind, very detailed and all around a fun kid friendly person! My little M&M's loved her! I loved her too...she was actually ON TIME!! We got in, we got out and no pain done! Off we were...just to get home, trade kids and leave again.
~*sigh*~
My last stop for the day was Kit Kat's 3rd grade music program. Unfortunately, someone had to stay home with the youngsters so I attended the concert solo. It felt a little weird not having my hubby there but Kit Kat understood. Hes a trooper! The program was so cute and so much fun! They sang, they dances, they played instruments and had a great time. Kit Kat was in the front row so I was able to see him the whole time. (They are so cute at 9 yrs old!!) As I was sitting there watching and singing along, it made me realize that my baby wasn't a baby anymore...he's turning into such a grown up young man! I am so proud of him!!
*Tear :'(
Now that I feel I have been pulled in every which direction, I think life would be so much easier if there were about 3 of me!! Maybe then I could get some sleep and stop feeling like I am stuck behind the wheel of a Nascar racer! HA!
Friends, tomorrow is Friday!! I've never felt more relieved in my life to say TGIF!
